An all-new internal mechanical key architecture has been developed in-house by elite Razer mechanical engineers –tested and validated to meet the demanding needs of the world’s best eSports athletes. The real conclusion: Might as well get a kogan black switch - razer priced this keyboard pretty low despite overpricing everything else, so the consumer has to sacrifice a lot.The Razer BlackWidow Tournament Edition is back and better than ever. I have used this keyboard for like 1 year, no obvious wear. If you want a proper keyboard do not go for this, but if just looking for a budget gaming keyboard this is at least better than most membranes (probably not the deathstalker - but it's way overpriced). This keyboard may look fancy, but its "personality" is sort of terrible. Conclusion: Razer is so rebel that they decide to change lots of things ending up with weird ergonomics on the whole, below decent and noisy typing experience and for some but not me, and retarded font choice. You can even record delays between actuation and reset points, and make the keys activate on reset point etc. You can put media keys even mouse clicks on the keyboard, but there are no spare keys dedicated for macros which means that you need to sacrifice keys for macros. I personally don't even use macros at all, but for those of you who want them then the whole keyboard is literally macro. It has the ability to track this keyboard's "heatmap" - how many times you have pressed each key on the keyboard after a "session" or "day" or even longer periods of times, automatically detects games on computer, pretty nice. By the way Razer Synapse received a lot of criticism for some reasons, but I have not really experienced any problems yet. But the keycaps appear oily after not cleaning for like a few hours of intense schweatiness, but does not lose its grippiness dramatically. Keyboard does not collect too much dust etc. The keyboard is heavy, and does not slide at all because good rubber feet. This does not affect anything when the keyboard is on a flat surface, but mentioning just in case. The raised feet on the back of the keyboard are EXTREMELY loose - not loose for pulling them out, but when pushed in their slots they just like hang really loose for about 3mm out of their slots, so that when you shake the keyboard they make horrible sounds. These are the LEDs on this keyboard - Razer logo (can pulsate or have a set brightness or turn off, green light), gaming mode (green light), macro light I don't know what the hell it does (red light), Caps lock (green), and scroll lock (green). I don't even use the right shift key, but it is massive compared to the left one. Typing is really muddy on this keyboard if you decide to not bottom out, but when bottomed out it makes lots of noise when banging on the body of the keyboard (and it still feels muddy). Gaming on this keyboard is fairly awesome, but typing is as mentioned in the "button feel" box. Back to the space bar - it is awkwardly thin, in a bad tilt (too flat so that you don't press the switch properly). The Fn key on the keyboard can: mute, volume down, up rewind, play/pause, skip also put your computer to sleep/hibernate (moon thingy). The back space is munted - The key badly fits stabilizer, so that every time I press backspace it slides and makes really loud noises, really bad quality and feel. Please note: the stabilized keys (space bar, back space, shift etc.) are sort of terrible, space bar is ridiculously hard to press and really thumpy - pretty loud when not bottoming out. The switches themselves are pretty easy to press down, tactileness almost none-existent. The matte/ grip finish of the keycaps that somehow absorbs a bit of sweat is pretty awsome for gaming and feels really solid, but - for typing it is hard to get used to, because the keycaps are way too grippy to allow fast movements of fingers. These "Razer" oranges are supposed to be knockoffs of browns, but they have a much less tactileness and feel of quality. They are using Kaihl (Kaihua) switches, which are noticeably different to Cherries. Razer has dropped its product qualities over the past 3 or so years, looking for cheaper production ways after getting well known. This is a review for Razer Blackwidow Tournament Edition Stealth 2014.
